Offering both period features and modern furnishings, this property is an ideal mix of old and new styles and provides charming, well-equipped accommodation for five people in three bedrooms. Set in a quaint, rural location on a 96-acre working farm, this semi-detached barn conversion is just three miles from the lovely town of Criccieth and five miles from picturesque Porthmadog. The spacious house can comfortably accommodate five people in stylish and modern surroundings. There is a wonderfully stylish kitchen, a cosy sitting room with woodburning stove and panoramic views of Snowdonia National Park. This comfortable and spacious holiday home is set in a central position for walking, cycling, watersports or fishing and is close to the beaches at nearby Criccieth, Morfa Bychan and the Llyn Peninsula.
Great house, very spacious and comfortable. Fabulous location with lovely views. It does need some maintenance and more attention to details (bigger bath towels, shower needs fixing, thorough cleaning).
Unfortunately our stay was not good. The property was smelly, cold, damp and unclean on arrival. Dead flies were all over the property. The en-suite toilet would not flush. The (only) shower leaked incessantly into the living room below - a reoccurring issue that had not been resolved due to water marks/ damp stains on the ceiling. The dishwasher had stagnant smelly water in and was dismantled. The fridge likewise smelt of chemicals and had liquid at the bottom. Absolutely no cleaning products (not even a j cloth or broom) were provided - not ideal for a longer stay. Overall, the property is in need of maintenance and the host would benefit from providing better amenities for guests, to improve guest experience. It’s a shame, as the property is well proportioned and in a quiet rural location. Until the above issues are rectified, we’d not recommend staying at the property. The host did not respond to our concerns.
Just five miles from pretty Porthmadog is the lovely seaside town of Criccieth - sometimes referred to as the 'pearl of Wales on the shores of Snowdonia'. This pretty settlement boasts a dramatic skyline due to its 13th Century castle perched majestically on a rocky outcrop with superb views over Tremadog Bay and the Snowdonia mountains. The area offers a host of activities and water sports enthusiasts will be delighted by the facilities available at the two pristine beaches. Inland, walkers and cyclists can enjoy of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. As well as excellent sports facilities, the beaches provide great opportunities for wildlife enthusiasts to spot porpoises and are a picturesque backdrop for the town's many pubs, restaurants and tea-rooms. The area is also home to Portmeirion's wonderful Italianate gardens, the Ffestiniog railway in Porthmadog and the stunning castles at Harlech and Caernarfon.
