Far from Taipei and the hectic life of western Taiwan, Hualien is a quiet little city a short distance from Taroko National Park, the scenic East Coast Highway and myriad outdoor activities - cycling, mountaineering, kayaking, rafting, surfing and much more. Our neighborhood is a quiet, residential area, well-known locally for its tree-lined boulevards, light traffic, coastal views, sidewalks, parks and museums. Several good restaurants are within walking distance.
Our place is next to one of the main bus routes from the train station, but buses in Hualien are infrequent. It is easiest to rent a vehicle or take a taxi. Scooters run about USD $8-12 a day. We are about an 8 minute ride from the train station, and about 8 minutes from the downtown district.

We are Dan and Linghui. Dan, originally from New England, has lived in Hualien for more than twenty years, and loves the place. Linghui grew up here, and has eight years experience guiding international teams as an interpreter for Taroko National Park. Now for the past several years, with our cumulative experience, we have been enjoying hosting and guiding guests who stay with us. Linghui is also an accomplished chef, and enjoys preparing wonderful fulfilling organic breakfasts for our guests. Welcome!
