If you fancy a gentle walk/cycle, head to the traffic-free Longdendale Trail (14 miles). The picturesque town of Holmfirth is just 4.5 miles away and has some great independent eateries. Enter the property via a shared entrance and follow the stairs to the first-floor apartment. The accommodation is decorated in a contemporary style, with flashes of blue tying each area together. The apartment feels bright and fresh, thanks to neutral tones and dual-aspect windows looking out over open countryside. An open-plan layout creates a fabulous social space; relax on the sofas with a glass of wine and chat whilst the dinner is being prepared or gather around the breakfast bar in the mornings to plan the day’s itinerary. In the evening, enjoy a pint or two in the pub garden, whilst admiring the spectacular views. The walks around Marsden Moor range from a gentle stroll along the canal to an all-day hike. There are numerous circular routes, many of which take you along large stretches of the Pennine Way. The Huddersfield Narrow Canal, which passes through the estate, is the highest stretch of canal in the country and the towpath provides a wonderful place for an afternoon stroll, with picturesque picnic spots dotted along the way.
