This room leads to the bunk room, which has a door out to an enclosed garden – perfect for having a BBQ and absorbing some Devon sunshine on the lawn. When you’re not splashing around in the shared pool (mid May-Sept) you can explore the 80 acres of working farmland surrounding the accommodation. This part of Devon is known for its ancient woodland, species-rich grasslands and also the Little Dart River, a tributary of the larger River Taw. To discover the area’s unspoilt countryside, head to Eggesford (7.5 miles) and join the Tarka Trail which is ideal for cycling and walking. You’ll want to spend an afternoon in Chulmleigh, exploring its scenic winding streets and perhaps popping into some local shops and art galleries before going for a drink in one of its pretty pubs. Exmoor National Park starts just 12.5-miles north, where you can discover the beautiful landscape of moorland, woodland, coast and rivers on foot or by car.
