Wow, was für ein AirBNB! Das Haus von Nicolas können wir jedem nur ans Herz legen! Wir haben dort vier Wochen unsere Elternzeit mit unserer 14 Monate alten Tochter verbracht. Das Haus bietet alles was man braucht und noch viel mehr! Atemberaubende Aussicht auf die Berge und den Sonnenuntergang, einen tollen Pool, einen tollen Garten mit großer Grillecke (inkl Kühlschrank und Waschbecken), komplett ausgestattete Küche und vieles mehr! Ja, ein Auto wird benötigt. Aber schon in wenigen Minuten lassen sich viele kleine Orte mit traditionellen Tavernen anfahren. Und Nicolas selbst ist ein herausragender Gastgeber! Wir kommen garantiert wieder!

Villa Nicolas is a little piece of heaven! From the moment we walked in, we knew the place looked even better than the photos. There is so much thought that has been put into every detail of the house itself, and the view is probably one of the best ones we have ever had from an airbnb! Nicolas and his family were the most welcoming people we met, and always went the extra mile to help us have a beautiful experience. We rented a car and thoroughly enjoyed having access to the surrounding areas, grocery stores, coffee shops, and yummy food— we would highly recommend renting a car :) If you are on the fence about renting a place in Crete- you won’t regret picking villa Nicolas, stop looking, do yourself a favor, and book your stay!

The villa: We arrived quite late at night when it was dark. We were greeted by Nicolas, ice cold raki and some snacks in the fridge. The next morning when we opened the curtains we were absolutely blown away by the views. Tucked right in the mountains and so private and peaceful. The kitchen and villa had all the amenities we needed (and more) and the kiddies playroom was a huge win for our 2 year old. The villa is even more beautiful than the pictures. The nearest beach (sandy not rocky) is about a 5 minute drive away and lined with stunning local tavernas. Local supermarket is 2minute drive away. Old town Chania was also close by - about a 45minute drive. All in all, the villa is excellently located. The host: Nicolas was so friendly and helpful. He was so quick and responsive with any questions we had and even provided a local guide to Chania and things to do around. All in all, we had an excellent stay. Would highly recommend and would visit again.

Enjoyed a wonderful week’s stay at Nicolas’s villa - a well equipped, comfortable, immaculately clean, spacious, tastefully decorated home with beautiful views and in complete peace and quiet. The perfect stay, nothing could have made it any better! We travelled with 2 children under 2 and Nicolas couldn’t have been more helpful when it came to arranging the provision of 2 cots and being so quick to respond in answering our Q’s. Toys and garden and pool toys and inflatables were provided which was much appreciated as meant we didn’t have to pack or buy any! You’ll need to hire a car - the villa is up a steep winding unpaved road, about 45mins from Chania airport. It’s a 5min drive from Plaka which has 2 minimarkets and a few tavernas, another 5min on to Almyrida with a lovely beach and plenty of small shops and more places to eat/drink. Note that the house is an upside down house with the bedrooms and bathrooms on the lower level; kitchen dining room and lounge are on the top.

Villa Nicolas is stunning and did not disappoint. You cannot beat the view of the valley and mountains. We loved having our morning tea/coffee on the balcony outside and looking out over the landscape. Nicolas met us there and was very kind and considerate. He had wonderful recommendations for eateries, outings, and grocery stores. The only minor issue was getting up to the villa as the road isn’t paved so it can get bumpy at times. We rented the smallest, manual car known to man so if you have a vehicle that is a bit higher off the ground you’ll be fine. The pool was lovely and we took full advantage of the outdoor grill. We would recommend Villa Nicolas to anyone thinking about visiting that area of Crete!
