The location was quiet, on a tidal river with eagles perched above and fish running in the river. Fishing can be done right outside on the privatedock. We took a ride on a vintage wooden boat from right in the cove. Reid State Park is just down the road. This AIRBNB allows for an excellent vacation location.
Katie and Chris are wonderful hosts. They reached out before the trip to make sure we were all set ahead of time and were responsive throughout our stay. The house is nestled above a tidal river and we watched seals swim by, eagles fish, and the currents change with the tide. The kayaks and canoes were fun to use with the kids and Katie and Chris made sure there were enough life jackets for everyone, including our two four year-olds. We had a wonderful time!
This was our second year staying at one of Katie and Chris’ places and something we look forward to every year. Katie and Chris are excellent, helpful, and proactive hosts. They are super responsive and even left us some tomatoes from their garden! We love that they are pet friendly so that we can bring our dog who also enjoys walks by the boatyard and laying by the water. The cottage was right by the water with a beautiful view and had plenty of amenities. We also always appreciate the local recommendations and passes to Reid State Park. Looking forward to returning next year!

Hello! We are happy to share a little about us. Chris and I are currently building our own home, with our 2 children and our pets at our side. We are entrepreneurs and have started a few businesses over the years, mainly Suzie Automatic- a macbook decal design biz on Etsy and Docksmith- driftwood docking stations for smartphones and tablets. We have found that in Maine it is a good thing to be diversified in your endeavors. Including seasonal hobbies- we love to swim, hike, ski and enjoy all Maine has to offer. We both were born and raised here in Maine and have gone away for school and come back. Chris and I together have enjoyed traveling to France, Austria, Sweden and most recently had a wonderful visit to Quebec City. We are looking forward to meeting all the Airbnb-ers!
