Spello is considered as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy in the valley of Umbria and is popular for its Infiorate, floral compositions created as carpets and paintings every year on the occasion of Corpus Domini between May and June. It happens on the night before the religious festival when the flower makers create these works of art, in an atmosphere of great joy and involvement. Over the years, the Infiorata has become a competition and on Sunday morning, before the procession, a jury judges and awards the best infiorata. During the rest of the year, a walk through the alleys of the village offers colorful and romantic views, with numerous panoramic views. Spello is also known as the “city of oil“, the olive trees that grow here and in the surrounding area provide one of the best extra virgin olive oils in the world, which is always present in the typical local dishes
