Shire Cottage is as good on the inside as it appears on the outside. We are a family of 4 (Dad, Mom and 2 boys aged 17 and 15) and the house welcomed us in with warm arms as soon as we opened the door. The well-kept garden and beautiful surroundings lead you around to a spacious, sheltered patio at the back. A well stocked, covered wood store serves both the large simple barbecue, and the log fire within. We had occasion to use both during our stay thanks to the unpredictable weather and they each delivered perfectly. At the bottom of the house is a small cellar housing such welcome essentials as a hoover and a washing machine (with detergent on our arrival) - there is also a line in the back yard. The cosy lounge was where we were able to relax in front of the stove or the TV as the mood took us, and this led into what became, for us, the games room. A large dining table was, nightly, the arena for any number of a variety of games and jigsaws we were able to find in the cupboards - the boys loved it too! The kitchen was incredibly well-equipped and we wanted for nothing, including dish soap. Upstairs the two bedrooms were more than adequate for us four, being a large bed for the parents and 2 singles for the boys. The bedding was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also sparkling on arrival. The location of Tarrington enabled us to venture as far as Tenby to the West, over to the Cotswolds to the East and through Shrewsbury on the way down and Ironbridge on the way back. The supermarkets in Ledbury we found easily and convenient. We would definitely recommend Shire Cottage to anyone staying in the area, and Sonja was a great host with quick polite and helpful responses every time.

We had a lovely stay at Sonja's charming cottage. The property is very comfortable and well set up for a family, and in an excellent location. Sonja is a fantastic host and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks again!
