We loved staying here! Don was a gracious host and responsive to our needs. The views are unparalleled - truly unique, as the ridge overlooks Kailua AND the Mokes. The location was perfect - a short drive to town and walkable to two beaches. The driveway was extremely steep but we did get used to this over time. Thankfully, there are two parking spots at the base of the hill. The house itself is older but was very clean and nicely renovated. Lovely breezes during the day! The neighbors downstairs were SO welcoming, but there is no insulation between their living space and ours so you can hear talking at normal decibels. The master bedroom is spacious and you can see sunrises from the comfort of your own bed. At night however, the wind was howling, causing the windows to rattle and walls to vibrate, and thus, there were many a sleepless night. We did stay during the winter season, however, when wind gusts may be stronger than normal. Overall, we loved this Lanikai gem and would return!
