Great stay, value for money. Very friendly but not intrusive host. We didn’t need any assistance but I’m sure he would do all he could to help in any way. Lovely bread and marmalade. Comfy bed. Cute cottage.

There are many positives for a stay here. The garden is lovely, there is a washing machine, the shower is hot, the doona and bed are super plus Rex is very friendly and left provisions for breakfast. However, the house is very rustic and could benefit from some modernisation. Also, water leaked from the bathroom onto the kitchen table below, as well as my new book. Carrying large suitcases from the lane to the cottage requires lifting them to shoulder level over the gate. The small local Morrisons has a very friendly owner and a good range of food.

It is tucked away so you feel like you are in your own little patch but it is actually super accessible with so many great transport links on the doorstep. The cottage was very sweet and cosy and has everything you need. It has the quirks that go with a very old higgledy piggledy home and part of its charm! The bed is worthy of a mention because it’s very comfortable! Rex is a great host - friendly, super responsive and gets the perfect balance of being helpful and leaving you in peace. The delicious supplies thoughtfully left for us was a real treat and actually really helpful.

Rex was an excellent host. Very helpful, always on hand and couldn't do enough for us. We cooked ourselves and the facilities in the kitchen we're excellent. Not quite as squeaky clean as other places but nothing untoward. The ensuite suited our needs. It had a hot shower, although the hot water ran out the first evening......over zealous cleaning I think! But we soon managed that for the next 2 nights. The ensuite had everything you needed but was a little small for my friend who is a lot taller than me. The shower and toilet, no problem, but the sink was tiny and difficult to access. The living accommodation was sufficient for our needs . I would have preferred a sofa rather than 2 separate chairs, with a TV downstairs. Just personal preference. The cottage was rustic and quaint but lacked central lighting and felt quite dark, but we didn't spend lots of time there so it definitely suited our needs for our trip. Thanks Rex.
