This is a budget option for someone needing a quick overnight stay in a fantastic location. The house is in one of Rutland’s most desirable villages and on the cycle route around the water offering easy access to all the activities that the area offers. The village pub, which serves food, is a 2 minute walk and is popular with visitors to the area. The historic market towns of Oakham and Uppingham are a short drive from the house. Our pretty 17th century thatched cottage has bags of character so be prepared for quirky details. The bedroom has a small double bed and a desk. The bathroom has a shower over the bath and heated towel rail. The rooms are clean, comfortable and warm and allow you privacy during your stay. Please note there are no facilities for making hot drinks in the room.

The single bedroom in Veronica's house was just what I needed for two nights while I was racing at Rutland Sailing Club. Comfortable bedroom and fully equipped bathroom for my own use. Thank you Veronica.
A very comfortable stay in a lovely period house in a charming village. Easy on road parking too. Just the job.
Comfortable low-priced room. Bathroom pristine. Ben very welcoming. Within easy reach of a welcoming pub for evening food. But it never occurred to me that it would not include a kettle, so i was grateful that a hot kettle-ful of water was provided when I asked. Now I know! I would book it again if coming through this way. Pity it was sheeting down with rain so discovering Rutland Water was a non-starter this time.
Absolutely gorgeous location and super friendly hosts. Room was perfect as was the large private bathroom. Veronica even gave me the perfect route for my morning jog. Will definitely stay again when working in the area!

A quintessential English village set on the cycle route around the water. A great place for cycling enthusiasts, anglers, walkers, sailors and lovers of the English countryside.
Parking is free on the street outside our house but space is limited so you may not be able to park directly outside the property but should be able to park no more than a few metres away - I can help you with this on arrival.
