Brennan was very responsive and helpful. The home was in a great spot and exactly as described. Home was kid friendly and had everything we needed for the weekend. We will be back again and highly recommend this home for others.
I honestly cannot say enough good things about Brennan as a hostess, as well as her amazing property. The house is very spacious and can easily accommodate large groups. We loved the style and found everything to be immaculate. Brennan has so much available for families to do onsite, like cornhole, an outdoor firepit and grill, tons of games, a wii and a pool table. The house has literally everything you could possibly need, and even things you didn't think you needed! She provided everything from coffee pods, to laundry detergent, to aluminum foil. Everything about the home was A+! The town is very quaint, quiet and really interesting to just drive around and look at. The lake is gorgeous as well. I would love to return when it's warm and we could appreciate it more. Most importantly, Brennan is, hands down, the BEST Airbnb host I have ever dealt with. Her efforts to make the guest experience perfect is evident and much appreciated!!!
We loved our stay at Brennans place! We had six adults and three children under five. The house more than accommodated us space wise. The bedrooms were a great set up. Very family friendly space, child proof, kids toys, adults games, pool table, Wii, a million TVs. Brennan provided additional baby gear which made our stay so convenient. So many small details that made our stay great. This would be an awesome location for a group looking to head to a Penn State game or for a reunion. We even saw a few bald eagles!
The host were great and very helpful. The place was very clean and lots of room for us all. The full kitchen was perfect for our gathering. The pool table was a hit with everyone. I will definitely be booking this place again for our future stays in Howard.
Howard is a small town, surrounded by Foster Joseph Sayers Lake, the Bald Eagle State Park, and Bald Eagle State Forest. A bedroom community to State College, Howard has two restaurants, three playgrounds, a bait shop, and a convenience store within walking distance of the property. Amish horse-and-buggies regularly cruise through this one-stoplight community, and resident bald eagles are frequent flyers overhead. In fact, the eagles seem fond of the tall pines about 30 yards from the house, where they often perch.
This home is located at the end of a quiet street, across from the Howard Cemetery, offering privacy and a large outdoor space. The dike behind the property features a level two-mile walking trail with beautiful lake views. The beach, picnic areas, marina, and hiking trails at Bald Eagle State Park are a 5-minute drive away. A public boat launch in town is even closer.
Spring offers trout fishing in nearby Bald Eagle Creek, and hiking and birdwatching at the park and in town. Summer brings swimming, boating, tubing, and weekly bass tournaments at the lake. In the fall, the view from the front porch presents the north slope of Bald Eagle Mountain in all its vibrant colors. The roar of Beaver Stadium is just a 25 minute drive away. Close by, public hunting is available in the Bald Eagle State Forest and State Game Lands (nos. 92 and 255). In the winter, cross-country skiing and ice fishing are popular activities.
Large private off-street driveway with lighting. Can easily accommodate 5+ vehicles, trailer with boat, etc. Street parking is also available at no cost.
