Ideally situated next to the excellent local pub, this spacious stone cottage has been built in a traditional style and makes a lovely base for a family seeking to enjoy the delightful Dorset town of Swanage. The property is set at the top of the hill along the high street and offers beautiful views over to Swanage Bay and Ballard Down. With the beach just half a mile away and a choice of pubs, restaurants and shops close by, this is a fantastic holiday base in a delightful part of this friendly coastal town. Five external steps lead into this light and attractive cottage, which is set over three floors. On the ground floor, there’s a stylish double-aspect kitchen/diner. Stairs lead up to the first floor which features a cosy and welcoming lounge, two attractive bedrooms – a twin and a single – and a shower room. The second floor has the master bedroom with a king-size bed and reduced height in the eaves. This bedroom also enjoys a beautiful view of the bay. There’s also a second-floor bathroom. From the kitchen, you can step out into the small courtyard garden which is enclosed by a Purbeck stone wall and features a tree, potted herbs and a seating area where you can enjoy a morning coffee as you plan your day. The bustling seaside town of Swanage is renowned for its golden sandy beach, restored Victorian pier and traditional promenade, as well as a fantastic choice of places to eat and drink. This is a wonderful base for nature-lovers, with Durlston Country Park (1.5 miles), Studland Nature Reserve (4 miles) and Hartland Moor (8.5 miles) all nearby. Local landmarks include Ballard Down (2 miles), Dancing Ledge (3 miles) and Winspit Quarry (5.5 miles). You can also visit Corfe Castle (6 miles) or take a ferry to Brownsea Island (8 miles).
