This impressive holiday home is a lovely holiday cottage offering comfortable self-catering accommodation for couples and small families. With uninterrupted views of the Wasdale fells, this character cottage is a wonderful starting point for hundreds of walks, either on the high fells or along the banks of the River that flows past the pub at Santon Bridge. The cottage offers comfortable self-catering accommodation and has wi-fi access. The Santon Bridge Inn is just a 10 minute walk away and hosts the International “Greatest Liar” competition towards the end of the year. It also serves good food and fine ale. Wasdale (10 mins drive) also boasts England's deepest lake (Wastwater), highest mountain (Scafell) and smallest church (St Olaf's). Eskdale is another lovely valley, only 10 minutes drive away, with hundreds of river and mountain walks. It also houses a terminus for the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway - a popular miniature railway that travels seven scenic miles to the coastal fishing village of Ravenglass. Muncaster Castle with its beautiful gardens is also 15 minutes away and has lots going on all year round, especially for children. The front door leads to the beamed sitting room with wood burner, TV and DVD player. From the sitting room is the beamed kitchen which has seating for four and is fully equipped with an electric range cooker, Belfast sink, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave. The kitchen has slate floor with underfloor electric heating The kitchen door leads to the downstairs WC and wash basin. The stairs (with stair gate if needed) lead from the kitchen to the king-size bedroom with window and views to the front of the property and a bathroom with bath, electric shower over, sink and toilet. There is an additional seating area at the top of the stairs with bookshelves and storage. Steep stairs lead to an attic bedroom with double bed and views across to the Wasdale fells from the dormer window. Please note that this room has a low ceiling. At the back of the cottage is a lovely garden with sitting out area which has fantastic views of the Lakeland fells.
