The main house on the ground floor sleeps 6 and includes 2 en suite bedrooms. The newer upper addition sleeps 8 and includes 2 en suite bedrooms as well as an adjoining office to the master. The downstairs side en suite bedroom, with its own porch, sleeps 2. The fabulous 180 degree harbour view climaxes each evening with colorful and lengthy sunsets that can be enjoyed from any one of four porches (front patio; side bedroom covered porch, upstairs sun deck and private master bedroom balcony) and 3 of the bedrooms. The Blue Dolphin has its own dock right out in front for your dinghy or rented Boston Whaler. The house also has a large and lovely lighted backyard garden filled with beautiful hibiscus, fragrant jasmine, colorful allamanda flowers, a hammock calling your name, as well as a rustic, but very functional (and fun) barbecue pit. The Blue Dolphin is conveniently located only steps away from shops, restaurants and a short walk - or even shorter golf cart ride (preferred mode of island travel) - to the famous three mile PINK SAND BEACH, and with the up-to-date, speedy, wifi system and office you are only a click away from the outside world. Enjoy the best of both worlds by spending your days in any of a variety of ways - at the beach, on a stroll visiting locals, fitted with goggles and flippers, swinging a tennis or pickle ball racquet, or out on a boat with fishing pole in hand or gathering star fish - and your mornings and evenings surrounded by verdant tropical plants gazing on the scenic and tranquil harbour. Some Details about the Blue Dolphin: Our concierge will greet you and help you enjoy your visit in any way that she can. If an issue arises or you have a question, she can find a solution or an answer for you. Do you need golf carts, extra cooking, catering services, dinner reservations, babysitting, boat rentals, fishing and/or snorkeling excursions. You name it, she is there to help. Maid service is every third day during the rental period. Additional maid service may be contracted and paid for separately. You will not be charged for reasonable post-rental clean up. The dock, located immediately across Bay Street, is a wonderful place to view a spectacular sunset or simply to absorb the island vibe. The water is deep enough for a dinghy or rented Boston Whaler, but like other private docks on Bay Street, we do not dredge, so low tide is pretty shallow. Most people who bring larger boats to Harbour Island moor them either in the bay or at a marina on the island, one of which (Valentine's) is only a 10-minute walk from the Blue Dolphin. The Reverse Osmosis clean water system provides fresh, clean water for the entire house. It not only offers pure drinking water, but the water is great for bathing, hair care, and all the fixtures related to water use. No more iron rust stains in the showers or toilets. Also, our huge water storage tank ensures plenty of fresh water for the entire house. The Blue Dolphin is kid friendly. We limit the number of expensive, breakable articles in the living areas, and the large garden provides room for play, custom-made gates can be placed on the top and bottom of the back stairway, and we can also dig up a portable crib or inflatable mattress. The harbour view from all points in the Blue Dolphin is completely unobstructed because a number of years ago we buried the power lines that run along Bay Street. This is only true for a handful of the Bay Street homes, most of which look through power lines to enjoy their views. In two of the bedrooms (downstairs and upstairs garden view) twin beds can be converted to king beds. In the downstairs garden bedroom, 2 twins can be converted into a king, and in the upstairs garden bedroom, 4 twins can be converted into 2 kings. The FULL HOUSE GENERATOR works automatically, turning on when the island power goes out, and switching back to island power when it resumes. BEACH MEMBERSHIP - Who wants to carry chairs and umbrellas to the beach every day? Our BEACH MEMBERSHIP provides 6 chairs and 3 umbrellas all set up and waiting for you in a manicured and convenient spot right between the two most popular resorts on the island (FREE to Blue Dolphin guests; additional chairs and umbrellas may be rented for a nominal daily fee). Possible WEDDING Venue? In the past the Blue Dolphin has hosted several relatively small (50ish people) weddings, followed by receptions.
