Despite booking in advance and paying for early check-in, our group of 11 experienced a nightmarish ordeal at this Airbnb. After being in the Airbnb for 6 hours on the first day, both front and garage door codes failed, around 5:30PM leaving us stranded outside in heels and dresses. When we informed the host, their initial response was, 'We will not be able to fix the locks today as the streets are blocked,' showing complete disregard for our safety. We were locked out of the unit for over 4 hours. Hours of futile attempts with maintenance ensued, exacerbating our sense of vulnerability. Eventually, by 9 PM, maintenance finally arrived with a master key that didn't work, and they had to break into the unit. Feeling completely unsafe, we left, abandoning groceries and party decorations. This was unequivocally our worst Airbnb experience. We had planned to stay for 4 nights but spent only 6 hours there before feeling unsafe enough to leave. I contacted Airbnb and received a full refund.
