Bega cottage is a delightful cosy cottage set in the coastal village of St Bees. A 10 minute stroll from a wide sandy beach, the English Coastal Path and start of the Wainwrights Coast to Coast walk. Our cottage is perfect for exploring historic towns and villages of the western Lake District. Hop on a train to explore surrounding areas, St Bees railway station is only a 2 minute walk away. Three cosy country pubs and a village Post office are only a stones throw away from our cottage. Traditional cosy coastal cottage perfect for relaxing. Costal Charm at Bega cottage comprises of 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a comfy king size bed, smart tv and clothes storage. The guest bedroom is small (we prefer to call it cosy) with a small double bed. We have an open living/dining space, perfect for spending time with loved ones and relaxing in front of the log burning stove. Our well equipped, modern kitchen is perfect for cooking after a day of exploring the Cumbrian coast. Outside there is a beautiful enclosed, private garden with seating/dining area where you can soak up the magnificent Cumbrian sunsets. We offer a 10% discount for 7 night stays! Please message if you require alternative stays as sometimes we can accommodate these if we have last minute availability.

We really enjoyed our holiday break at Bega Cottage, it is beautifully decorated and well eqipped with everything you could possibly need. The little touches left for us ..ie wine and biscuits were very much appreciated. Our dog was very happy with her treats and bed that was also provided, the enclosed rear garden was ideal. Fantastic coastal walks only a short stroll from the cottage and we also made use of the train station which is a few minutes walk and great for visiting local towns. Loved Whitehaven Quay and Harbour and got the opportunity to explore a tall ship. Highly recommend, great break in a superb cottage.

Lovely place to stay for a few days, great host and a really nice village to visit.
Stayed here for a friend’s 30th Birthday weekend. This property was perfect for 4 people and one dog! We instantly felt at home when arrived. Carrie was very responsive and an excellent host. The beds were very comfortable and all had a great couple nights sleep. The train station down the road was ideal for going to local areas for restaurants and a short drive to any supermarket’s. Beach was lovely and a great walk. Loved the dog friendly touches! Couldn’t recommend enough :) thank you!!
We had a wonderful stay at Bega Cottage with our two small dogs. Everything was exactly as described and the cottage was warm & welcoming after a bracing walk along the coastline. Carrie was friendly and responsive, and her guidebook was most helpful. Thank you for making our first visit to St. Bees so special xx
