Nicely designed apartment, well equipped but a few little things missing, which to the host’s credit were sorted out. Expensive for what it is - even for Zurich - and the second bedroom was just a bit too small. However, the apartment was clean and well located - walkable to the station. Customer service generally good, but a little frustrating at times as you often seem to be speaking to a different person each time. The most disappointing experience was the pricing model. We were interested to stay another month, but were told it would cost us £1000 more than we had previously paid. Apparently this is due to ‘seasonal demand’, which I don’t quite believe as the apartment remained unbooked after we departed. Did not feel valued as a customer at all - we were just another entry on a spreadsheet designed to maximise profit. Shame, really, because the experience was otherwise generally quite good.

Lovely Horgen is one of the larger towns on the shores of Lake Zurich, located about 15 kilometers from Central Zurich. Horgen is bordered by the vast Sihlwald Nature Preserve, a beautiful tract of land that makes for a refreshing day trip or hike. There are several supermarkets in Horgen, as well as Swiss restaurants and lakeside cafes where you can take in the incredible views. Horgen is also home to the Ortsmuseum and the Wohn & Porzellanmuseum, if you're looking for a dose of culture. It's easy to get to Zurich and other destinations in Switzerland quickly, thanks to several rail lines that run through the town.
