Sleeping eight guests, the Cumbrian cottage could suit two families keen to holiday together or even a party of couples, especially as one bedroom and shower room is within a separate annexe building. From here, plan lake and fell walks, as well as day trips to places such as Keswick and Derwentwater, 8 miles away. Also, savour the special time you have together just relaxing at the house or in the garden or challenging each other to tournaments in the games room. Climb the stone steps and let yourselves in to discover a wealth of character features, from exposed stone walls to beautiful timbers. Head through to the well-equipped kitchen/diner, which has underfloor heating, to make a cup of tea or coffee, and find everything you need to prepare hearty feasts with your own ingredients. Pull up a chair in here at mealtimes or through in the dining area for more formal dinners. There is also a utility room and ground-floor WC. Head through to the sunroom for some tranquil time gazing out over the greenery, or head into the lounge. Light the open fire in here then settle down to a good film on the TV with Freeview or the DVD player. Climb the staircase to a family bathroom then up a little further to find two twin rooms, plus a king-size, with en-suite shower room. Another king-size bedroom, with an en-suite shower room, is housed in a separate building within the grounds. There is also a superb games room, with table tennis and snooker, within a barn with vaulted ceiling for members of your party to enjoy. The garden also provides space for family games, as well as outside dining and relaxation. Keep an eye on children near the stream and pond, and take care when walking in the grounds, which may not be suitable for those who are less mobile, as they are not always level.
