Ulrich's texts came through incomplete, like the one I got before we left " Hi Tim, I hope you've....." all his texts came like this hence this is why I had a problem getting into the apartment, I had the code for the building but not the one for the apartment & had to phone, leave a message & wait for him to call back, I've checked the last email from Airbnb & there was no code there or in the texts. Once we had the code we had a great time, 5 minute walk to McDonalds for breakfast & some great bars/restaurants within a short 5 minute drive, except Sunday when they were closed, then we had to drive to West Springfield, an area we had been to before, in snow & slush. All in all it's something we would do again next time, just make the sofa bed easier to make into a bed and/or make it more comfortable, it's very difficult to get back to sleep on if you wake up dueing the night.
It was a good place to stay in for a couple of nights. Just a few things from my experience: 1. Initially during booking, there was a $3300 CAD security deposit mandated , which when my wife contacted the host, was removed as it was "apparently" an error in the listing. 2. My wife was then given an offer price for 2 nights which was $250 CAD more than what was shown in the listing. When asked about it, there wasn't any response. 3. Since we were unfortunately attending a funeral and needed a place at the last minute and ran out of options in the neighborhood, booked this place from my account to get the original price that wasn't being offered to my wife anymore. 4. You get what you pay for - but paying $636 CAD to get a couch that was broke & where the Thermostat didn't work and we felt cold most of the night, wasn't expected. 5. These things can be improved & hence not giving a perfect 5 star review, but more like 4 stars to be honest.
自我介绍
I graduated college in 2017 with a chemistry degree. During college, I picked up a part time job as a houseman in my school’s hotel, less so for the money. More so to look busy. It was initially meant to be a past time, but one particular night left a mark I never forgot. The job required me to assist the housekeepers. I was the grease to a well-maintained machine. Take off the bed sheets, remove the used soaps and towels, and empty the trash. You do that to every room. Simple right? It was the last night for an opposing school’s football team and my manager needed someone to clean up after them and then prepare the rooms for the next working day. I showed up and cleared every room assigned to me. I thought nothing of it and went back to my dorm. The next day, I went back to work on my regular shift. To my surprise, everyone came up to me to thank me for making their day a hundred times easier. I was happy for a moment. But then I scratched my head thinking to myself, “you all know that I’m getting paid for this right?” But then it dawned on me. I was looking at this experience through broken glasses. Hospitality is as much a human experience for the guests as it is for the people who make that experience worthwhile. That day has inspired to me to strive to make every experience worthwhile. My goal is to facilitate wonderful experiences for people around the world. Hopefully, hosting on Airbnb will be the catalyst for my guests to make fun, happy, and joyful memories.
