This home was the perfect place for us and the one we wanted to stay. It’s peaceful and quiet and the host is so responsive and friendly. The fireplace was the highlight of our stay there.
Absolutely wonderful stay! Thorn Mountain retreat took my breath away! Such a special peaceful location - combined with the genuine warmth of our host Michael made for a truly memorable experience. Highly recommend for a rejuvenating getaway!
An absolute gem! The accommodation, the host, the property, and the area all. We stayed three nights and hope to return again someday. Highly recommended for hikers or casual walkers, or anyone wanting a peaceful and well-equipped place in a gorgeous area. Kitchen genuinely was very well appointed and the cottage was really comfortable. Michael was very helpful. Also recommend the winery across the road!

We had a wonderful couple of days at Mountain View Cottage and Michael was a great host. Shared lots of local information with us and had very detailed maps in the cottage of walks on the property. Perfect base for the Bluff Knoll walk and others in the Porongurup's. Accommodation very clean and confortable. Michael was a great communicator. Thank you.

Hi! I really enjoy being a host. I love to help guests find authentic, local, off-the-beaten-track experiences so they get the best from their stay in the mountains. My deep knowledge of the Porongurups and this region has come from a life of adventure exploring every part of this slice of heaven and I want to share that knowledge with all of my guests. My favourite feeling is when guests come back from finding a secret place I've told them about and they really feel it was a special experience for them. People arrive here wanting adventure, relaxation, reconnection to nature and family time or private time with their partner. Based on the hundreds of great reviews over the 30 years we have been welcoming guests here, it is fair to say they all get what they looking for here and leave happier. What could be better?
