Es gibt wahrscheinlich kaum einen schöneren Blick auf den Arenal See. Die Anreise ist zwar etwas beschwerlich, aber jede Anstrengung wert. Der Whirlpool with a view war unser Lieblingsplatz. Cristina hat sich super um alles gekümmert und war jeder Zeit erreichbar. Empfehlenswert ist auch der Ausritt in das idyllische Umland. Die Küche ist trotz ihrer Größe eher basic ausgestattet, aber ansonsten ein sehr komfortables und vor allem geräumiges Haus.

We loved our stay at Cristina and Diego's Top View Cottage. The views of Lake Arenal from the deck are stunning. From the other side of the cottage you get a picture perfect view of the Volcano. The cottage is nicely decorated and spacious. It's a bit remote, so you'll want to rent a 4x4 for the drive but that's part of the experience. We arrived after dark, then awoke to a beautiful and peaceful paradise. It's also worth the bumpy ride to explore the surrounding countryside which is breathtaking. Our hosts were very responsive both during our stay and the months leading up to our trip when I had any questions or needed advice like renting a vehicle. You're staying at a working Horse and Cattle ranch so you can hike the property and interact with the animals if you so choose. We couldn't get enough of the beautiful horses. We had a very busy first week on the Pacific coast this trip so this was a perfect spot to relax and just enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica.

We loved our stay at Cristina’s so much we extended. Check in was so generous, we got lost and came late with no way to communicate but Esteban waited for us and made due a delightful arrival. The place was comfortable spacious & beautiful. We enjoyed hiking around the property day & on the cool moon. The view was mesmerizing and the home had everything we needed and more. Yoleny made sure we had everything we needed and Cristina communicated proactively to support our every need. Due to the roads it was a bit challenging to get some places, but it was worth it to just enjoy the many opportunities Cristina’s property offers. Don’t miss this place if available, our only regret is we couldn’t stay longer!

The view at the property is incredible! We definitely enjoyed that. The house was a little more rustic and dated than we expected, and the kitchen had a strange odor and discolorations. We were disappointed to have to fill the hot tub and then heat it ourselves (after troubleshooting an issue with the outlet). The heating process took at least 18 hours so we didn’t get to use the hot tub for half of our two-night stay there. The TV remote didn’t work, and the only option for using it were some older DVDs, many of which turned out to be empty cases. Note that it is an adventure to access with rough roads, a river/creek crossing and a steep winding incline up the driveway. So be prepared for that. It is a remote property, and if you’re traveling to attractions from there, it’s a haul. If someone wanted a remote writers retreat or quiet family getaway where you stay on property for the bulk of the visit, this could be a nice place to stay and tune out the world for a while.
