The Chev is our charming Tiny Home on Wheels (THOW). It was architect designed for permanent living with a small eco-footprint. But for now, its available for short stays. From The Chev you can enjoy peaceful views of Mt Little Joe by day, and fire up the tiny Canadian wood stove at night. The property is handy to Warburton village, and the Lilydale-to-Warburton rail trail. Enjoy the local walking and bike trails, or picnic and relax on the banks of the nearby Birrarung (Upper Yarra) River. KITCHEN A full kitchen is available for enthusiastic foodies. - Crockery - Cutlery - Cooking/baking equipment - Pantry staples (oil, seasoning, dry herbs & spices) - Twin burner gas stove - Fridge with separate freezer - Combination convection oven/microwave - Kettle - Toaster - Dishwasher BEDROOM There is a lofted bed space with a comfortable queen bed. Unlike many tiny house designs there is stair (not ladder) access and a dropped walkway that allows you to stand at the bedside. BATHROOM The bathroom underneath has a good sized hot shower and waterless composting toilet. Waterless toilets are an important component of tiny house design. The Separett Villa (you can look it up if you are curious) is odourless and eco-friendly, and does not require any emptying/maintenance by guests. But all genders have to sit down to pee! LOUNGE The Chev's central space has arched ceilings, a dedicated dining place for two, and a couch with a view of Mt Little Joe. While there is an electric heater/air conditioner provided, the tiny Canadian wood heater is the true heart of the home. Pocket wifi and TV with Netflix and Youtube available. 4G coverage is good for Optus, Vodaphone & Telstra (including Aldi Mobile & Boost). 5G coverage is not yet available for Optus in the area.

Fantastic way to try out the tiny house experience for the first time. Amazing kitchen and cosy bedroom. Surroundings couldn’t be more beautiful.
Ebony was amazingly responsive. After a slight mix-up, Ebony went above and beyond to ensure the Tiny House was beautifully equipped for a weekend away. The house was snug, cosy and amazingly well equipped - didn't feel tiny at all! It was also well situated, close to the rail trail, Millgrove and Warburton. Unfortunately my planned cycle up to Warburton was rained off, so I'll have to come back again!

The Chevalier is a nice cozy getaway!! Has all amenities in a unique location, would recommend to anybody looking for a getaway!!

Enjoy the local walking and biking trails, browse the antique and thrift shops, and enjoy the local pubs and cafes.
Picnic or read by the nearby Birrarung (Upper Yarra) river, or partake in a crisp river plunge on a hot summer day.
GETTING THERE
Access is easiest by car, 90 minutes from Melbourne. Once you have navigated to the address, head past the private main dwelling and all the way down the extended driveway. There is a parking place right next to The Chev.
It is also possible to access The Chev by public transport from Melbourne. Take a train to Lilydale railway station, and then Bus 683 to Warburton. The closest bus stop at McKenzie King Drive is 15 minutes walk from The Chev (uphill). Bus route 683 usually runs about hourly, and has bike racks, so it is possible to bring your bicycle all the way from Melbourne.
Cycling enthusiasts could even bike all the way from Lilydale train station on the gorgeous Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail. Just over 2 hours ride (with a highly recommended final stop at Millgrove shops for fish & chips or icecream)
GETTING AROUND (without a car)
The closest bus stop at Mc Kenzie King Drive is 15 minutes walk from The Chev. Buses usually run about hourly, it is a 5 minute bus ride into Warburton village and the Waterwheel Visitor Information Centre.
Alternatively, it would take under an hour to walk all the way into Warburton village from The Chev, with most of the way on the delightful Lilydale-to-Warburton Rail Trail.
Millgrove shops are the closest to the property, around a 20 minute brisk walk from The Chev, with very basic groceries, a great fish & chip shop, ice creamery & cafe.
