Absolutely loved our time in this beautiful home. It is on a nice, quiet street but very convenient to downtown Detroit and walkable to several nearby businesses/restaurants. Friendly and welcoming host! I’ll definitely stay there again if/when my travels bring me back to Detroit.
Place is exactly as described. Entry is easy with a secure, numerical lock. Very clean. Nespresso pods plus coffee grounds was a welcomed touch. Walking distance to a handful of restaurants, shops, and a couple small markets. Host went above and beyond in making arrangements to ensure our toddler had necessities to eat and sleep. She was overall very communicative. Would happily stay here again.
Pros: Hosts are incredibly responsive.. Upstairs tenant was noisy, host ordered noise machines for the bedrooms and were delivered the next afternoon. walkable neighborhood, quiet, really neat market down the street. blankets and linens were a notch above what we normally see in AirBNBs. Cons: aforementioned noisy upstairs neighbor and older home with creaky floors = very, loud at times. The bedroom especially was creaky and loud leading to substantial issues with sleep. the noise machines did help. Marijuana smell from upstairs permeating. Not a lot, but noticeable. Three holes in the floor. And I don't mean little holes for coaxial cable and phone lines, we're talking 2 inch wide circles. Ikea bunk bed is not put together very well. ** The hosts were very understanding and kind in dealing with these issues, but these are the isues you get when hosts live two time zones away. Oversight needs to be much, much better
Andrea's place was very clean and comfortable. It had plenty of space for our family to spread out in, and the kitchen was well equipped for making coffee (it even had a milk frother!) and meals when we wanted to stay in. The only thing missing was a microwave, which is something that would have made it perfect :) It is an older building, so the floors are a bit creaky and we could hear the upper tenants footsteps at times...I am sure they could hear ours as well. It wasn't anything that was too disturbing for us. The location felt safe and close to Trader Joe's and a few other cute shops which was super convenient! Thank you for the stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at Andrea's place. The location is great: easy access to lots of shopping and restaurants and was very close to family that we were visiting. The immediate neighborhood is very walkable and the nearby Fairfax Market is a great place for prepared food as well as some nice grocery items. The flat is the lower level in a charming 100-year-old home that appears to be newly renovated. Everything was in great shape, spotlessly clean, and super comfortable. The kitchen has all brand new appliances and is well stocked with plates, cutlery, cooking utensils, and pots and pans. Andrea is super responsive and a wonderful host. We will definitely stay here again.
We are located between Jefferson and Fairfax on a quiet, safe street. At one corner you will find Village Wine Shop. At the other corner, you can walk to Fairfax Market where you can pick up some groceries or prepared meals.
We recommend renting a vehicle. You can walk to the market at the corner or even to The Park (downtown GPP) if you are up to walking a few blocks.

We are a family that loves to travel! We have 3 young kids and they all have passports and have been overseas. It's important to us that they learn to travel at an early age. We almost always stay in a short term rental so we have learned what we like and don't like and have tried to implement all of that into a short term rental of our own.
