Steve was an incredible host. I originally booked for one month but less then a week into my stay I had a family emergency come up and I needed to return home. Steve worked with me to get my refund back from Airbnb and even paid me for the groceries I bought and had to leave. During my stay he drove me into town to get to pick stuff up as well as show me around the area. I don't think you could ask for a better host for long term stays in a foreign country. Steve is very kind, helpful and knowledge able about the area. If you are looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay with an Onsen, camping and access to a river you can not find a better spot.

Had a nice stay here ! If you enjoy calm places and nice scenery go for it. Just mind it is an old house next to a river so expect insects from time to time and the house can get quite cold (kerosene heater can be asked for ^^). The onsen is lukewarm (around 33-35°C), enjoyable after a long day. The dogs were adorable. There is buses to get there, not a lot in the day so check the schedule! (especially on weekends). Else weekdays the latest is around 8pm at Ayashi Station. Steve is a helpful host so do not hesitate if you have questions.
