We had a fantastic stay in the Old Post Office. It’s a really lovely cottage, and exceeded our expectations. It was a great base for a few days road cycling around the area and very warm and comfortable… especially the king-size bed. We loved the wood burner. Chatton has a great pub which does good food. We didn’t go for the refundable deposit but opted for the insurance which seemed very reasonable. In fact the whole place was very good value for money. Already planning our next visit to this beautiful area and The Old Post Office. Thank you.
The Old Post Office is a lovely cottage in a peaceful and beautiful village. The village shop sells everything including fresh bread and home made cakes and savoury quiches and pies. You do need to have cash as they don't accept payment via mobile phone. The Percy Arms sell food. I didn't go there so can't comment on it. Views from every aspect in the village are beautiful. Wooler isn't far away and is a lovely and well serviced village. The cottage itself is spacious and extremely comfortably furnished. Outside is a nice decked area opposite a pretty wall. My one concern was that I had a bit of trouble working out how the keys worked. Some clear instructions on the access arrangement would have been useful. The hosts take a sizeable/refundable deposit against damage for which you have to pay £10. The refund can take up to 10 days.
The Old Post Office was peaceful, just what we needed after a busy Christmas and New Year. Everything was utterly Exquisite, from the artwork on the walls to the Interior design. A real home from home 😊
The cottage is lovely. Comfortable, cosy and inviting with lovely artwork. We enjoyed our stay for a couple of days at Christmas while visiting family. There was a problem with the toilet but I was very impressed that a friendly chap came out on Christmas Day and fixed it. It’s a great cottage in a peaceful village in beautiful surroundings. Loved our visit and would stay here again.
