We loved our stay at the farm cottage, which is just what you want and relaxing and rustic farm stay to be. The outside kitchen was one of our favourite things and our animals loved the back garden. Just be aware that the parking area and access to the road is shared with another cottage so you have to make sure the gate is always kept closed. Make sure you visit the gorgeous damn at the top of the farm with a picnic! Kirsten is super friendly and helpful with everything you need. We will be back!

Sometimes nature has other plans for your travels. We were at Laughing Waters during the Heritage Day floods, and despite being cut off from the world for a couple of extra days, we had everything we needed to stay comfortable and wait out the storm. The little cottage is cosy, well-equipped, quaint and comfortable. Kirsten and Gerd were super, making sure we had everything we needed during a very stressful time for them too. We spent many hours by the fireplace, enjoyed some lovely walks with their dogs, and Justin the sheep, and saw some wonderful bird-life from the garden.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Kirsten's directions were perfect, and she was very responsive and helpful. The cottage was cosy, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had all we needed - incl. coffee, tea, rusks, sugar, salt and pepper! And the vases of proteas and wild flowers were so pretty! Lots of dry wood, firelighters and matches - and candles during loadshedding (tip - bring torches!). The spring water was delicious and refreshing. Two things to bear in mind when booking: The cottage has two sets of steps inside, leading from the kitchen/lounge down to the two bedrooms. And another unit - Laughing on the Farm - is right next door. We did not know that from the description or the photos, and were glad that no one had booked it. But it's ideal for booking both units with friends. We enjoyed our walk up to the zipline dam. And I *loved* my session with Kirsten's beautiful horses - magical and deeply healing. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and we felt right at home.
