This cabin sleeps 4 with one queen bed on the main level, one queen, and one twin in the loft area. It is ideal for 2 adults and 2 children. Enjoy access to Saltcreek to fish, wade, or kayak. The Boondock is less than 8 miles from The Hocking Hills State Park/Visitor Center. The space: The Boondock is a Glamping Cabin. There is a half bath, NO SHOWER in the cabin. The toilet is a composting toilet. There is no typical running water in the cabin. But there is running water for drinking, brushing your teeth, washing hands, etc, via a pump system from bottled water jugs that is hooked to a faucet in the bathroom. The Boondock is on our small family owned campgrounds. There are 3 RV/Tent sites on the property as well. Access and use of the creek and the front yard are shared with all camp guests. The cabin does not have WiFi. While we would love to provide this amenity, broadband is simply not available down our road yet. Maybe one day soon! We do have a smart TV that you can cast to. Cell service is typically limited. We suggest downloading your episodes or movies for offline viewing before heading to the cabin. Please note that the loft area does not have railings, as it would make it more difficult to access. Therefore, it is not practical for very young children/toddlers. We allow one pet under 50 pounds.

very clean, quiet, nice place to relax. o I am not used to a compost toilet, new experience . close to Hocking Hills trails. as stated the internet access was very limited. finally read a book that I have had for over a year! my dog Arlo loved the location and hiking! Thank you for sharing your place with us!
I don’t think my partner and I could have stayed anywhere more perfect for exploring Hocking Hills. Very close to the park and not far from stores and restaurants if you forget something at home or need a bite to eat. Bethany was very thorough on all instructions we were given and was a very kind host. It is a small cabin, so it’s very important to keep that in mind before booking. For us, it was exactly what we wanted!
This place exceeded my expectations. It was the perfect weekend getaway for my family. It was so peaceful being right on the creek with good views for both sunrise and sunset. It was only about 10 minutes from the Hocking Hills visitor center. 10/10 would stay here again
This was a great place for 2 adults and 2 children for a night. Very convinient to the hiking trails and cute and cozy. The loft could have been cleaner- there were some dead bugs up there that my kids weren't a fan of- but as a "glamping" cabin, I guess you cant complain too much. The price was great compared to many other cabins in the area, and it was worth it to us to lose a few amenities for that for a quick trip. We were able to stream a movie with a wifi hotspot we brought and we enjoyed a campfire on the creek and it was a really nice evening. Bethany was very responsive with me asking her a few different questions. We would stay again!
The Boondock was the perfect place to disconnect from city life and reconnect with nature. It was so refreshing to be staying right on the creek and only minutes away from Hocking Hills. All of the attention to detail (blankets, pillows, coffee, towels, plates, soap, etc.) and cleanliness throughout the cabin was much appreciated. Highly recommend!

Hi, I'm Bethany! I'm the owner of The Homesteader Cabin and Narrows Landing Campground. I was born and raised in the Hocking Hills and love calling this place home! I live on the land that was homesteaded by my family over 200 years ago. My family and I just want to share the special place we call home with others so they can enjoy all that the Hocking Hills has to offer!
