Welcome to Fenton Cottage, my charming 1919 cottage nestled in a quiet neighbourhood on the fringe of Hobart. The cottage is situated across the road from leafy Fitzroy Gardens and conveniently close to the CBD, the Sandy Bay shopping precinct and South Hobart where you can walk the rivulet track into the city. A short 20-minute drive will take you to the majestic Mount Wellington/ Kunanyi. Sleeping up to 5 guests, Fenton Cottage is perfect for your next getaway to the island state. Fenton Cottage is an immaculate home in the leafy suburb of Dynnyrne (pronounced de - nern!) on the fringe of Hobart, Sandy Bay and South Hobart. The house is across the road from Fitzroy Gardens and behind us you will find Parliament Street Park with a basketball ring, full size oval, play equipment (including an extra long side!) and BBQ facilities. The cottage is fully set up for short stays with space for up to 5 guests and features a light-filled open plan living area to relax in. You will find plenty of board games and books to keep your group entertained during your stay. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed and features an ensuite. There are two additional bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other is a single bedroom. The fully equipped kitchen is complete with modern appliances, ample counter space and all the necessary utensils to create meals during your time at the cottage. You will find supplies in the Sandy Bay shopping precinct, which is a short 5 minute walk. Alternatively, walk to the Hill Street Grocer in South Hobart in around 10 minutes. South Hobart is home to Bear with me and Ginger Brown cafes, which are both popular with locals and we can strongly recommend coffee or meals from both. Fenton Cottage features a private courtyard and patio area perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or outdoor dining. The property is fully fenced the courtyard is also perfect for children to play in or for you to simply relax and unwind.

We loved Stephanie’s place, lots of thoughtful touches from eco toiletries, books, Bluetooth music player and comfy spaces. Located in a beautiful area of historic housing, bus routes, beautiful Fitzroy gardens & play park opposite complete with an abundance of Autumn colours and leaves to kick up. We loved easy walking distance to our instant fav coffee shops … Giddy Up and Bear with Me . Further away but still walkable was Hobart City, Battery Point & Sandy Bay for groceries . In the city visiting Sunbear Coffee with its wonderful burst of 70’nostalgia is a must ! We did the Glow Tour with Dr Lisa … our first Airbnb experience; wow it delivered with a PHD expert in her field that knew how to translate sharing her passion for her field. Can’t believe how many things glow in the dark, seeing a platypus, glowing plants and a rare ringtail possum was fabulous … highly recommend ! Would definitely stay here again with our family.
Lovely house to stay in. Close to SoHo and Sandy Bay. Even an easy walk to town. Hosts were very proactive and easygoing. We will be back!

My mum, sister and I decided to stay here for a long overdue girls weekend away. Such a cute looking cottage from the outside opened up to a lovely and extremely comfortable 3 bedroom house on the inside. Not only did the host make us feel welcome, so did the neighbours who suggested some sights and attractions to visit. I would have no reservations booking to stay here again.

We are Stephanie and David, a professional couple working in education and health. We have 3 teenage children and a cavoodle. We enjoy travel, photography, sport and spending time with family and friends. Most of all we cherish our Island home Tasmania. Having lived in Fenton Cottage for 3 years, we wanted visitors to Hobart to also experience our home, the ease of its location and all the area has to offer.
