Located at the end of a quiet road less than 10 minutes from the center of Chester and close to countless hiking trails, lakes, and outdoor activities such as fishing, kayaking, and swimming. Enjoy the gourmet kitchen, sit by the firepit, and come for your summer vacation or a quick getaway. Sleeps up to 8 people, and we are dog-friendly! This is a restored farmhouse with a rich history in the town of Chester. It was the original farm on the road and likely encompassed most of the road with farmland. Meadow's End Farm still maintains 11 acres of lawn, meadows, forest and a small pond to explore - great spaces for sledding, snowshoeing or hiking! The home has all the modern conveniences of high-speed wifi, firesticks for the TVs in all 3 rooms, and a gourmet kitchen and appliances, while surrounded by beautiful wide plank floors, 12-over-12 original windows, exposed wooden ceiling beams, and an open, airy feel that is cool in the summer and cozy in the winter. There is a screened in porch to catch the breeze and read a good book with a glass of wine, an outdoor fire pit for toasting marshmallows and sitting in Adirondack chairs, and a hammock off to the side under a tree for napping or reading. Bring Fido along too, who will enjoy romping in the meadows and laying by the woodstove. Relaxation is the key word at Meadow's End Farm! I cannot say enough about how much our 2 families (4 adults, 4 kids, ages 7-3 years old) enjoyed the home. The property was beautiful and fun to explore. We hiked during the day & one evening took a sunset hike. We enjoyed sledding. The kids really enjoyed all the games available. There are more than enough sleds & snowshoes for everyone. Bathrooms were great, mattresses were very comfortable. It’s also a great location. On top of that, Melanie went out of her way to accommodate us. It left us all feeling relaxed & recharged. We can’t wait to return.
My friends and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Melanie & Arthur's place and it was the perfect retreat. The space was incredibly spacious, clean, and quiet - exactly what we were looking for. We highly recommend staying here and would come back without hesitation!
I am in love with this quintessential Vermont farmhouse! We were 4 couples and 2 dogs, and the house was perfect for our ski weekend. Beds were super comfortable with nice linens, kitchen was very well equipped, showers were great, and we loved the spacious dining room. The house has so much character and the property is private and peaceful.
House was very nice and clean. We liked the location and the privacy the house had from neighbors around. She was not kidding about needing 4 wheel drive vehicles to get to the house but we were prepared because she communicated this up front. We enjoyed the fireplace as it added extra warmth and comfort to our trip.
We stayed at Melanie’s place with a group of friends over the weekend on a ski trip to Okemo. It’s a lovely house, beautifully decorated and has everything you need. The surroundings were also beautiful even in the winter - would love to come back there in the fall. The location is a bit out of the way but still a short drive to nearby towns and restaurants. Melanie is a great host - very responsive and accommodating. Thank you for hosting us!

Close to skiing, hiking, antiquing, art galleries, apple orchards, maple syrup farms, and the Vermont Country Store!
Home is located on a dirt road. There is parking for 4 cars in front of the home.
