Relax in our cosy country cottage with easy access to the South Downs, walks, cycling, pubs, and country villages. Victorian cottage with a modern, scandi vibe in small village close to Henfield and Steyning. Downstairs is open-plan, with a snug, kitchen area and garden room with dining table. All of this is shared with us, but you're welcome to use our kitchen to prepare meals and drinks and enjoy them in our dining area. Upstairs is our bedroom, your guest bedroom, and a shared bathroom with a separate shower and bath. Your guest room has window shutters, a small double bed, wardrobe, small desk, hairdryer, and mirror. it overlooks our garden/fields and is quiet and dark for a good sleep.

The most hospitable couple I’ve ever seen. The house looks as though it was purposely built for Air BNB. Very spacious dining/rest area. McDonald’s, Tesco and Nisa local all under 10 mins away. Brighton beach too! I’m definitely staying there next time.
I had the perfect stay here, Claire and Alex are lovely hosts and made sure everything went smoothly. Before I arrived the communication was excellent with instructions on how to get in and a heads up that they wouldn’t be home. I was only staying one night and felt very welcomed. The house itself is spotless and a super comfy bed. Very peaceful and they even left the heating on for me whilst they were out and made me feel relaxed and at a home in their space. Really comfortable chatting and also had some alone space. I would definitely stay here again, thank you so much! ☺️ I also took some inspiration from your place, love it.

Claire and her husband were very welcoming and excellent hosts, making me feel at home. The house is cosy and the room very tidy with a very comfy bed. I was able to come and go as I pleased and would highly recommend staying at this property.
We had a lovely stay at Claire's place, it was everything we needed on my trip to Small Dole, clean, tidy, quiet and a very comfy bed. Claire left us a water jug in our room which was definitely needed after our night out! Will definitely stay again whenever we're down that way.

A small village community with lovely local walks in Tottington woods or on the South Downs way. Great for hikers, cyclists, and those looking to explore the nearby countryside and coast.
There is a friendly pub in the village called The Fox, and a small shop with post office.

You will need a car ideally to access the cottage. There is unrestricted road parking around the cottage. There are some bus links but the closest train station is Hassocks which is 15 mins drive away.

We're Claire and Alex and we live and work in West Sussex. We love long walks on the South Downs, roasts in the local pubs, and cosy nights in front of our fire watching films. We're huge Nordic fans, film fanatics, plant parents, and are working on giving our cottage a scandi industrial feel.
