192 sq ft tiny home settled in a holler of the shawnee national forest. close to everything, but in a world of its own. we regularly see a family of deer, a few groundhogs, woodpeckers, mushrooms, ducks and geese. see shooting stars from your bed or from the extra long clawfoot tub. one queen bed on the ground floor level and one queen bed in the loft. all open concept except the bathroom. local coffee and restaurants .4 miles away. hiking trails, wine trails, dispensary 2-10 miles away. the pale black dot sits on three acres in southern illinois. enjoy walking along the creek, observing the newly installed bluebird run, grilling out, sitting by the fire, or watching the groundhog try to eat up the garden. or maybe walk up the hill to the little shed porch for some morning coffee or journaling. randomly, you might hear the school up the hill from us.

Erica and Matthew’s space was so lovely. They were so kind and sent us so many wonderful local recommendations. The space was perfect for two people, or if you have a child, the loft would be perfect to take a family trip! The space is cozy and clean—and we can’t wait to come back 🩷🌈😁🌿
We came to enjoy the TOTAL ECLIPSE AND we had a good time! Luckily the sky was good and we enjoyed. The place is private with nice view. The main bed is perfect! The second bed had low ceiling but we slept just fine. Thanks for everything. .
Such a great gem in Anna! Erica was so sweet and helped us with everything we needed. The house was so cute and the views on property were wonderful. I can’t recommend this place enough!
It looked just like the pictures, and I saw a bunch of deer looking out the window. Very cozy and welcoming. At one point, I messaged about a kitchen item I couldn’t find, and Erica immediately brought one.
Such a sweet little house! We stayed here on a road trip for a night and I wish we would have had more time to enjoy it. We especially appreciated the great view of the night sky, the claw foot tub, and the special extras (like snacks) that Erica provided. Highly recommend!

we are the only house at the bottom of a dead end road. you might see the local school kids driving to and from school, hear a football game or kids up the hill, or see someone doing a random municipal job, but otherwise it’s pretty quiet.
the area is drivable. we are about 30 minutes from carbdonale and cape girardeau and an hour from paducah. you can park in the driveway. a small path along the creek goes directly to the tiny house front door.

our wedding was during the 2017 total solar eclipse so we just celebrated our second celestial anniversary! during our ceremony, we quoted Carl Sagan’s The Pale Blue Dot, which inspired the name for our tiny home :) our hobbies include: growing and eating food, foraging and eating mushrooms, knitting, acting, strategy games, computer science, science in general, camping, reading, yoga, bird watching, and film photography.
