Spend your precious downtime at our family & dog-friendly retreat situated directly on Whaley Lake. With its private dock, in the summer months you can enjoy kayaking, swimming or just dangling your feet in the water. Two decks offer ample space for entertaining or relaxing while overlooking the water. And our new generator means everything works even in stormy weather. Our recently renovated two-story getaway is only 80 minutes from New York City, which makes it the perfect weekend escape. Wake up to the serenity and breathtaking views of Whaley Lake! At our newly renovated lake house, enjoy your morning coffee overlooking the lake, cook a gourmet meal in the spacious and fully equipped kitchen, have a family game or movie night – the relaxation possibilities are endless. Located only 80 minutes from New York City, this two-story home sits directly on Whaley Lake and has its own private dock. The house has 4 beds in 3 rooms, 1.5 bathrooms, a washer and dryer, a dedicated work space, two decks, a gas grill and is stocked with board games and books. There is also a fenced-in dog run on the property. In the summer months, you can enjoy the use of two kayaks, a sunfish sailboat and a paddle board. We also have a generator so not even summer storms can interrupt your vacation. Take a short drive to explore the restaurants and shops in the village of Pawling (10 mins), Fishkill (25 mins), Poughkeepsie (25 mins) and Beacon (30 mins); hike the Appalachian Trail (>15 mins) or bring your bikes and ride the Maybrook Rail Trail (>5 mins). Thunder Ridge ski area is only a 15-minute drive away, and Barton Orchards is 10 minutes away. The closest Metro-North train stations are Pawling (10 mins), Brewster (20 mins) and Southeast (20 mins).

Pam is an amazing host! We felt right at home. Pam answered all my questions and gave great recommendations for local food and things to do in the area. The kitchen was fully stocked and has everything you could need. The lake is absolutely stunning. The bedroom was comfortable and it was lovely to walk out and onto a porch overlooking the lake. The dock is also one of the nicest on the lake. Room to sunbath, launch a kayak, sit and read. There is a little area with a desk and a beautiful view of the lake to sit and work or read at. There are a few bookshelves throughout the house with something for everyone to read. There are thermostats in every room so you can adjust the temperature to your liking. Lots of closet space and dressers for storing your belongings in both bedrooms. Laundry in the downstairs bathroom and a very modern clean full bath upstairs. Comfortable couches and a TV. It really was a home away from home. Can't wait to come back again!! A++
If you’re looking for peace, relaxation or creative inspiration, look no further. There is a beautiful layout to the home that allows you to enjoy the view of the lake from nearly every room and angle. The kitchen is immaculately well kept and prepared, making it the perfect place to hide away for a weekend in. It was exactly what I needed and was looking for, I’m already dreaming about another stay.
This is a beautiful spotless home and the perfect place for a quiet getaway. Pam has thought of everything, I was even able to have my morning smoothie in the Vitamix! Very convenient to the Maybrook Trailway (9 miles of paved running/walking), large supermarkets and for us living in upper Manhattan, it was only an hour away. We can't wait to get back again soon to enjoy the lake and the spacious outdoor decks. By far the best cottage stay in the NYC area!
