Kachina Peak Chalet is an open concept Alpine Chalet with all the modern touches you would desire and plenty of room to sleep up to 12 people, just minutes to both base areas. Kachina peak chalet is an open concept Alpine Chalet with all the modern touches. With plenty of room to sleep 10 to 12 people, and just minutes to both ski base areas in Taos Ski Valley! Kachina Peak Chalet is a Brand-New Build and is ready to experience its first winter season. With over 3,500 Square feet of living space there is room for the whole family and some friends. This home is located a short 4 min drive up to the new high-speed quad at the upper kachina basin, or drive down to the main base area in 5 min. After having fun on the slopes, leave the kids in the massive custom bunk room with a large open play area and a 65-inch smart TV. The adults can make their way up to the main floor to lounge around the crackling fireplace in the living room while sharing stories and Après ski drinks and appetizers made in the gourmet kitchen. Also on the main floor is the master suite and second bedroom. The master suite features a king bed with a fireplace, tv and floor to ceiling windows offering incredible views of the mountain. This master in suite bathroom features both dual sinks and showers as well as an oversized bathtub for two. The second bedroom also has a king bed, fireplace and TV with a shared bathroom, shower over tub. The loft or 3rd bedroom hosts a king bed and large smart TV and private bathroom with a shower. The bunk room situated on the ground floor is perfect for kids or adults with 4 available full sized double bunk beds, comfy couch with massive sheep skin rug, beanbag style chairs and private bathroom. At this time, the owner is not allowing guests to access or utilize the garage. Our sincere apologies. There is parking available for 4 to 5 vehicles (depending on snow load and size of vehicles) in the flat driveway in front of the home.

We absolutely loved staying in the Kachina Peak Chalet! It was incredibly gorgeous, comfortable, and well-appointed. We especially loved the amazing master bath, the cozy hot tub, and stunning view of the mountains through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the top two floors. We’re already dreaming of planning another trip back!
This place is heavenly. Big open windows, immaculately clean, new hot tub, access to the fireplace, and so close to the resort that you can even ski in / ski out if the road had snow on it! The local samples of things was also such a nice touch. I’m equally impressed with the team that supports this space too. They were incredibly responsive, cleared the snow when a storm came through, made sure trash was picked up, and so much more. They answered most questions speedily and with such a positive attitude. My entire group already wants to rent the space again next year! A must stay!!
This review is a little bit different. We actually did not get to stay at this original house. We ran into a small scheduling conflict and had to change our plans last minute. But this is where the importance of a good owner or the owner’s management company comes in to play. In our case, the folks that manage this property and few others in the Taos area, really went above and beyond to make sure our last minute spring break trip was amazing despite the last minute audible! They got us into another property they manage that was amazing as well! We would happily stay in any of the properties this group manages based on their communication throughout our trip, the amazing properties they watch over and their willingness to go above and beyond when trips don’t go exactly as planned! Thank you!
This was a gorgeous home! Perfect for our large family! Communication with management was excellent and they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed! They just added a hot tub which was a big plus after a day on the slopes! Highly recommend this place!
Fantastic spot. Between the different parking areas at Taos. Beautiful view of Kachina peak and amazing windows. House was as advertised (and even had a hot tub which we did not know). Can essentially ski out if you’d like but requires a little walking across the road to the green run down to the main base. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. 5/5. Thank you!

This home is located in Taos Ski Valley between the lower base area and the upper Kachina base area. It is on the main dirt road between the 2 and does require 4 wheal drive at a minimum, snow tires or chains are highly recommended as well. The location does provide easy access to the slopes with a quick 4-minute drive to Kachina Base and the new express lift, #4. I highly recommend this option as it is an easy walk to the lift from where you park, and you don’t have to deal with the crowds at the main base area. or a 7-minute drive to the main ski base and Lift 1, Pioneers Glade, children’s center, ice rink and shops and restaurants. Unfortunately there isn’t a shuttle service between the two bases at this time. We do recommend shopping before you come up the mountain from Taos as there aren't any full size grocery stores in the ski valley, just a couple markets with minimal groceries' and supplies, and much more expensive.

An Important note as you plan your travels: vehicles with AWD or 4WD with snow tires OR chains are almost always REQUIRED in the ski valley to access this home. The roads in the winter can get very icy and slick.
This home is located in Taos Ski Valley and is approximately 30 minutes from the town of Taos. While there are two very small markets in the Ski Valley, we recommend you purchase groceries and supplies in the town of Taos prior to, or during your stay. Or in Albuquerque or Santa Fe as mentioned above.
Public transportation is EXTREMELY limited in our small town, but there are still many amazing things close by to explore! There are very few Uber/etc. drivers in town, but we do have a few less common and unique options available. Please inquire ahead of time if you are looking for specific transportation needs to and from Taos and while here.
