The house is a 20 minute flat walk from Marlow town centre or Little Marlow in the opposite direction. The house is situated in a quiet cul de sac with very little traffic.
Marlow is a beautiful town on the banks of the River Thames with all the amenities you’d expect from such a scenic location. The town boasts several award winning restaurants, including the Michelin star Hand & Flowers, and many wonderful pubs and cafes. Art galleries and boutiques line either side of the High Street with Higginson Park at the riverside where access to various commercial boating options are available. The recent addition of an Everyman Cinema on the High Street is a lovely addition to an already perfect location. There is also a Sainsburys supermarket and a Sainsburys Local store in town, along with a new Lidl store.
A few miles upstream of Marlow via boat or road is the world famous Henley-on-Thames which is an easy excursion. Downstream is Bourne End and Cookham. Keen walkers will enjoy a 12km loop between Marlow and Bourne End, taking in some delightful pubs at places like Little Marlow, and enjoying the lovely views of the rolling hills and Thames valley. Cliveden House and Gardens (National Trust) are a short drive away, or a decent day return walk for those inclined. The Chiltern Hills and countless beautiful villages and pubs best known for their use as settings for Midsomer Murders are also within an easy 20 minute car journey.

There is plenty parking around town with a number of fee paying car parks. Parking is free after 7pm in the carparks. There is restricted free parking along the High Street with an hour limit in most spaces and 2 hours at the end near the river.
Marlow is serviced by a train station which offers a reasonable service into London via Maidenhead. It is half hourly during peak hours and hourly off peak and takes around an hour. The recent opening of the Elizabeth Line provides an excellent link into the centre of London with a connection at Maidenhead. Contactless payments are accepted at Marlow train station. Bourne End and Cookham also have train stations on the same branch line to Maidenhead so one way walks are possible with a train journey in the opposite direction.
There are regular buses from town to Henley and High Wycombe and a bus stop is a 5 minute walk from the house in front of The Britannia which is the closest pub to the property.
Commercial boats for hire on a seasonal basis are available from Higginson Park at the bottom of the High Street, as are cruise boats that offer various routes.
