Alai The house is a contemporary, aesthetically designed house located at Injambakkam, off the East Coast Road. Although nestled in a secluded and quiet neighborhood, the main road is only a minute by walk. The brick structure, standing tall and under the bright sun, is entrenched with multiple tales that have been revived to resonate in today’s time. Insta: alai_thehouse Taking one back in time and welcoming you to the space is an intricately carved 150 year old door sourced from Karaikudi that showcases the rich heritage and skilled craftsmanship prevalent in Tamilnadu. The space comprises a bedroom with an exposed brick patterned wall and a jack arch roof to complement it. The ensuite bathroom is open-to-sky on one side and has a modern shower cubicle with a rain shower and body jets. One can step out of the room to a front verandah overlooking the greenery on the opposite side of the house. The room itself is designed to evoke a sense of understated luxury through the tastefully curated use of natural materials, eclectic mix of furniture and elements of décor and is set in the midst of tropical landscape. Bedroom Comprising a queen-size bed, seating and basic amenities, the bedroom is a classic urban habitat. Calm shades of white are interspersed with exposed brickwork and complementary furnishings, thereby adding drama in this minimalist setup. Bathroom Staying true to the organic forms of the structure, the bathroom merges the indoors with the outdoors. This part of the semi-open bathing area extends to an open-air area on one side with an enclosed rain shower with body jets on the other side.

The place was very easy to find and is easily accessible through both driving to it and walking. It's right by the beach and isn't far from the centre. It was easy getting into the place. The home is pretty ✨and was a perfect place for my stay and peaceful to spend time. Communication was excellent by both the host and check-in was easy and smooth. The hosts kept in contact regularly.
A pretty and peaceful little haven located in the center of the bustling streets of ECR. With its aesthetically pleasing decor and helpful hosts, this was truly a hidden gem and one I hope to escape to more often. Couldn't recommend it enough!
