The house was a fun trip into the past. My grandchildren had a great time playing hide and go seek amongst the many rooms. Everyone in the family had a comfortable sleep. We joked that Stacy even arranged morning entertainment with a family of deer grazing in the yard, which the children loved seeing! We enjoyed the enclosed porch where we could feel the brisk morning mountain air. It was en enjoyable trip for the entire family.

Eight of us stayed for a wedding in the area, and it was PERFECT! We added on the breakfast service; it was delicious each of our 4 mornings. Eye candy for antique lovers kept us all reminiscing. But my fave part was just sitting out in the yard, enjoying the quiet, feeling the lovely temps, and pretending I lived in such a small, quaint town. Thank-you, Stacy, for your exceptional property and ideal hosting.

We came to Elgin to visit family and go to a memorial ceremony. There were eleven of us and as with any large groups it was difficult to find somewhere to stay as the hotel is no longer available, and a way to escape to give the grandparents/great-grandparents a break from the littles. Staying at May's Place was the perfect fit for what we needed. My brother and niece stayed here the year before just in one of the rooms with other guests and had a great adventure as well. We were visited by the local gray cat "Bandit" as well as an orange cat we called "Ritz" which was great as the kids clung to them for a while giving the adults a break at entertaining. Stacy was the perfect host. Very responsive and provided great instructions for us. We will be back again soon!

This is a cluttered home and unfriendly to children. Only bathroom is on the main floor even though there are 2 bedrooms on the 2nd fl. Motion detector cameras and bright lights are activated and host notified when passing through common areas on the way to bathrooms in the night. Host sent text message to remove object we placed in front of camera in the night for privacy. The cameras are activated at all times in the common areas. All though there are few places to stay in Elgin, if you value your privacy stay away from this one!

Our family traveled to The Barn at Tamarack Springs for a wedding; so The May Place was the perfect location. The listing was true to description. We rented the whole house, but you can just rent a room. We opted to purchase breakfast for $10 and it was delicious. Stacy was very accommodating. Wish we'd had time to ride the train!
