Alcester is a great little town . It's High Street is quaint and quirky with some stunning Tudor style buildings. There is a post office , a bank , several bustling cafés, various small clothes shops , charity shops , a butcher, aTesco Express , a local grocery shop, a Waitrose supermarket, a hardware shop etc .... For a small town there is a wide selection of pubs. Many of the pubs also serve food . There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance of the property.
There is a friendly vibe in the town and people will generally talk with you and help you if needed. The town has a football club , a rugby club and tennis courts . There is also a gym . Alcester hosts various local events and festivals during the year. The bunting is hung up in the summer and the Christmas lights in the winter. There is a sense of community and the town council is quite active in maintaining and improving facilities. I've lived here for 17 years.

Hiring a car is probably the best option for flexibility and to visit places off the beaten track. There are direct public transport links by bus to Stratford upon Avon, Evesham and Redditch . Bus timetables including details. of all stops are available online. Tickets can be bought on the bus . There are train stations and bus stations at Stratford upon Avon and Redditch which allow for access further afield.
It's possible to hire bikes locally. There are also some beautiful places to walk around Alcester. I'm more than happy to share local knowledge.
