Exactly as described and what we wanted, we were on a family break of ages between 29 and 58, very quiet, clean, comfortable and homely…local pub very nice about 15min walk, good food but be sure to book the restaurant, Railway station about 15mins walk…beautiful walks but be aware there are some steep hills to negotiate…but don’t let that put you off. Highly recommend and perfect for visiting Bath and all that has to offer.

very nice house in a beautiful part of the country side with lovely walks from the door.house well equipped. bath okish mid range mattresses. nice clean bedding and towls provided. only 1 bathroom with shower and bath was ok but for 6 getting ready can be fun. pictures was a little misleading only making it feel bigger. parking a small issue as up steep hill but not too bad. we asked we midday checkout but didn't want to pay extra £25. overal nice place but we feel on the pricey side really nearly £850 for 3 nights.

We stayed here for a birthday weekend and it was ideal. Everything was lovely and was an easy drive to Bath, would definitely stay here again.

Our family were very much in need of a country escape to recharge our batteries as well as quietly celebrate a birthday. Forest View Retreat was exactly what we needed and our only regret was not booking a couple more nights! We appreciated the stylish decor and attention to detail as well as the bottle of bubbly that greeted us as we arrived. But most of all we fell in love with the view, especially from the master bedroom on the top floor! The village is beautiful and we loved our evening walk down to one of the local pubs for our evening meal. Another hit was the village shop and cafe which has a varied and very tempting stock! There are so many places nearby to visit including Bath and Bradford on Avon. Another recommendation would be Merkins farm cafe which boasts the most amazing all day breakfasts and some outrageous cakes!!!

We just returned from a wonderful 5 night stay in Freshford. Beautiful, peaceful cottage. Easy to drive to Bath in 15 mins. Beautiful local walks, a lovely village shop and pub. Host was responsive when we had an issue with the bath and they got someone over promptly to fix it! We would definitely recommend and hope to visit again in the future!
