While we were hopeful the backyard with its pool and spa would be the highlight of this house, and it very much was, what we also just love is the unique feel of the house. We don't like staying in sterile bland hotels, we much prefer properties with character and style. And this house has that. Lots of cool artwork, gorgeous built-in bookcase on the way to the pool, and he large entertainment areas are swanky and very comfortable. The TV is huge and we enjoyed several movies together as a family. Great location and parking was never a problem. Our weather got chilly and rainy toward the end of the trip so we were initially bummed, but the kids never left the warm pool, and swam the whole time through the bad weather. The pool was warm enough for even the adults to really enjoy, and the hottub was even lovelier. Hope to come back again!!

Joel's place was the perfect place for us. There were 6 of us and we wanted a beautiful place to do a baby shower. The pool and spa area is so amazing. We had lots of plans, but we really didn't want to leave the house. it's the perfect setting for family to catch up enjoy each other. We were concerned when we saw the high temp was 63 degrees, but don't let that stop you! it was fabulous! It's kind of like being in a museum. Each room is beautifully curated with interesting art and furniture. Amazing!

The house is spacious with a beautiful outdoor area. Everything was very clean. Unfortunately, many things were confusing, inconvenient, or not working. The gate lock didn't work at arrival and we had to wait for a family member to open it. We were told we'd get a key, but nobody brought one. Then the battery lock to the front door died leaving us unable to lock the house and the host wasn't responsive for most of the day. The family member we dealt with was kind, but the experience was stressful. Some confusing things could probably be solved with better documentation - e.g., backyard lighting, one shower without hot water, sliding doors don't close all the way. We reached out about many of these things, but got incomplete answers. Condition of the house wasn't consistent with the cost, e.g., the house leaked when it rained, and instead of basics like tissues, cereal bowls and extra towels, we found drawers of random items. Altogether, this didn't make for a very enjoyable stay.

Could use a little attention (missing light bulbs, random assortment of kitchenware & household items, pool area does not light up quite as nicely as the listing photograph, etc) but host was extremely responsive & helpful with any issues that arose and house is perfect for a small group. I had some friends in town for a 40TH birthday and there was plenty of hang space & bathrooms to make everyone really comfortable. House is clean and spacious. Neighborhood is walkable to lots of fun shops & restaurants nearby & a short Uber ride to anything else we wanted to do. Great for a stay in L.A.
