We wanted to enjoy a quiet beautiful getaway to bring in the new year, and that exactly what it was. The house is absolutely lovely, and it was so cozy to tuck in with the fire going and heated floors with a big storm rolling in. So lovely walking around the pond and redwood grove, we even got some fog that came through that made it all so magical. We were incredibly relaxed. The kitchen is fabulous, and we loved making delicious meals. My only complaint is that check-out is pretty early compared to other places, and on top of it being early the cleaning person showed up before 10:00am (checkout) and seemed irritated that we were there, which made us feel very uncomfortable even with our car already loaded, towels in the wash, and dishwasher running. The last thing we wanted while feeling rested and relaxed was to be rushed out, a damper on an otherwise perfect getaway.

This place is breathtaking. The property is huge and very private, pretty well fenced in on most parts and was able to let my dog run free. It was raining most of our stay but hunkering down at the fireplace and popping in the hot tub was ideal. Occidental is a great town, close to many other small towns around Sonoma and was the perfect jumping off point to do a little exploring and get back by 2 to relax. The kitchen was well stocked and great to cook/eat in. The bedroom did not have shades, but the view from bed is not to be missed at any time of day/night. Highly recommend staying here for some R&R. We will be back!

Gorgeous house and surrounding area. The bedroom with windows facing the yard was incredible, especially as all the fall foliage was in full bloom. We had a great time in the hot tub, floating on the boat in the pond, and just enjoying the fireplace. The nearby town was charming with good restaurants and friendly folks. One thing I’ll say is that the checkout instructions/expectations for the guest are lengthy despite a hefty cleaning fee. I feel like doing the dishes (some expected by hand) and washing all towels and bath mats shouldn’t be necessary if I paid $250 in cleaning fees. Also, the 10am checkout is much earlier than other Airbnb’s and appears to be non-negotiable. That’s their prerogative, but just know that it’s earlier than most. Overall, I’d recommend for the beautiful scenery and home.

This place is more beautiful than the photos can show! The master bedroom views of pond, trees, and birds is absolutely heavenly. Huge kitchen for gourmet cooking. Wonderful walk around the land. Short drive to town. We've stayed here twice already and hope to return!

The pictures can't capture how beautiful this spot is! The view from the master bedroom is heavenly. You can stroll around the land, look at the treetops and sky from the hottub, and relax in multiple spots set up for you. Huge kitchen. Easy access to town. Thank you!
