We had a lovely family holiday over the Easter weekend. We had some great recommendations of places to visit from the neighbours! The location was perfect for trips to Durham with the bus stop so close, and also the coast really close too. We had lovely day trips all in good proximity. The house was very comfortable and very spacious for the 6 of us.
Lovely house, perfect for our needs but would easily accommodate 6 plus couple small kids I’m sure. Lots of space, quiet at night, practical for our needs. Easy clear instructions for all we needed. Really loved the stained glass on the stairs, although the stairs are at a slight angle which did surprise us first time, just a quirk of the house, nothing wrong! Clean and tidy upon arrival, and neighbours were friendly. No issues at all, and would certainly visit again if in the area.
Absolutely perfect base for visiting family! We had 11 in total for dinner one evening and there was plenty of space, and more than enough room for the 5 of us staying in the property. Assuming it's available we'll definitely be back.
My family of 3 children, dog and husband had a lovely New Year's stay. There was plenty nearby to keep us entertained visiting Durham, Beamish Museum and family walks. The cottage had everything we needed to cook and cater for us.
We had a wonderful stay at Linden Terrace for Christmas to spend time with our son who was performing at the Gala Theatre in Durham. Neil put a tree up and decorated to make it feel Christmas special for us, highly recommend.

Coxhoe is a village near Durham. 1 mile from the Durham services junction on the A1(M), it has a few good local walks nearby. A short walking distance into Coxhoe High Street, where there several amenities, including a Pharmacy, master butchers, florist, newsagents, two grocery stores, post office and cafes/ pubs / restaurants.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT - take 56 Arriva bus service passing right outside the front door to Durham Bus Station (Durham city centre). From the bus station it is a 6 minute walk to Durham mainline railway station. The 56 bus service in the opposite direction ( cross the road) takes you to Ferryhill and Bishop Auckland.
From Newcastle Airport - take the Metro to Newcastle Central Station - train to Durham or Gateshead interchange stop and 21 Bus service ( to Durham) - from Durham bus station 56 Bus to Cornforth Lane , Coxhoe - cross the road to 9 Linden Terrace ( Linden Cottage)
