This gorgeous stone-built barn conversion is one of two properties on a 90-acre working farm, just 5 miles from the picturesque harbour village of Clovelly. Situated next to the owner’s house, it’s a great base for smaller families or couples looking for a beach holiday. During the day, children can take a tractor ride or pre-arranged farm tour to meet the resident animals and, in the evening, parents can enjoy a relaxing glass of wine in the outdoor hot tub. Traditional details such as brick windows and warm-coloured stonework are a charming sight on arrival. Inside, wooden floors and an open-tread wooden spiral staircase dominate, with a bright country-style kitchen/dining area providing the perfect place for family meals. The lounge area has a cosy wood burner and huge L-shaped sofa, just the place for relaxing after long walks. Upstairs, the double room has an en-suite with a shower, and the twin room can be made up as a super king-size bed on request. The bedrooms and bathroom all have vaulted ceilings and exposed wooden beams, with contemporary lighting creating a setting for serious relaxation. Outside, the property has an enclosed patio seating area with hot tub and BBQ. Clovelly is a picture-postcard village with narrow streets and a sheltered harbour where fishing boats land their catch. You can enjoy guided tours, boat trips, two museums and craft workshops, as well as a Victorian kitchen garden. The nearest beach is 6 miles away at Bucks Mills, or for a classic Cornish beach resort, drive 16 miles to Bude which has a great selection of shops, pubs and the wide sandy expanse of Summerleaze Beach.
