自我介绍
I am a Zapotec from Teotitlan del Valle, I grew up herding a flock of goats or else helping my family at our rug making workshop and also farming our land. I've always been in contact with nature and doing outdoor activities, I can say I know every square mile and every path in our village from the northern montains, the low pasture lands and the cornfields. My weaving skills lead me to get a bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering; I always liked the production aspect of rug making. After finishing my degree I realised that the industrial production system needed to turn 180° to become more sustainable. I did not hesitate to apply for a scholarship and become an agent of change pursuing a PhD on Sustainable Manufacturing at the Liverpool University in the United Kingdom. After almost a year working at a University near Oaxaca city, I've decided to close the circle and return with my parents helping them in their farm and weaving workshop. I think that farming and weaving are elementary skills that make us human and I would like to share that with the word whilst finding new ways to make the industrial production system more sustainable.
