Keeper’s Cottage is a lovely house on a quiet, beautifully landscaped property in an area surrounded by rural Connemara. The house itself has been beautifully renovated to a very high standard and includes all of the comforts we would want in a holiday cottage. Mary’s photos and descriptions give you a good sense for what you will find there. Surrounding the cottage are beautiful gardens with an incredible variety of plants, shrubs, and trees with views from the gardens looking out to the lake and mountains. The location is quiet and secluded while allowing quick access to ferries to the Aran Islands, visits to Mary’s suggested pubs and stores in Oughterard, and many hikes and driving tours throughout Connemara. Mary providea very helpful suggestions and is generous with her time as she quickly responds to messages and goes above and beyond in helping you feel comfortable and make the most of your holiday. We highly recommend Keeper’s Cottage. Thank you for your kindness, Mary.

Mary & John were perfect hosts. Kind, thoughtful and very helpful. The cottage and extensive grounds are beautiful. A little piece of paradise. Connemara is great for walking, cycling and visiting, and Keeper's Cottage makes a peaceful and charming base from which to explore the area. We thoroughly recommend this accomodation.
Mary et John vous feront vous sentir comme à la maison ! Aux petits soins pour leurs hôtes, Mary et John redoublent d'attentions bienveillantes : scones fait maison pour l'arrivée, bouquets de fleurs du jardin, prêt de bottes de pluie (Wellington boots !), suggestions de visites, etc... Le cottage est très confortable et situé dans un magnifique parc, dont on peut profiter lors du séjour. Calme, beauté de la nature et du jardin travaillé par John ainsi que son potager aux multiples surprises ! Accès à la nature sauvage, au lac de Fermoyle... Et aussi très bon emplacement pour rayonner sur l'ensemble du Connemara, Aran Islands et Galway... Un séjour inoubliable ! Merci encore à Mary et John.

I grew up in London in a Irish family spending all of my childhood summers in the West of Ireland. Every year we made our way out to Connemara and that was the start of my love affair with the area. The combination of the wild landscape, endless beaches and, of course, the spirit of the people makes for a magical holiday any time of the year.
