Montealegre is a small village 4km from Castro Urdiales. The house is situated in a stunning valley overlooking neighbouring farms. There are two local bars in Montealegre 5 min walk from the house. There is also a children's playground, football and basketball court within walking distance. Local activities within 30mins include horseback riding tours, guided canoeing, paddle boarding, quad biking tours and many more. The Camino De Santiago route passes through Castro. Bilbao is 30mins, Santander 45mins and San Sebastian 1 hour 30mins. This is the perfect location for combining rural relaxation, seaside fun and city sophistication.

Our location is great for exploring the numerous coastal villages and cities in the North of Spain. We are only 10mins by car to the A8 motorway giving you easy access to many amazing locations in both Cantabria and the Basque country. For guests travelling without a car, there's a bus stop in the village 5 min walk from the house to Castro Urdiales. From Castro Urdiales you can take a direct coach to Bilbao, Santander, San Sebastian and many more local places.
