Treated my whole family on a grand reunion for the first time @ Johnny’s hammock. The place was very clean, equipped with toiletries, beddings, and kitchenwares. Caretakers we’re very nice, attentive and friendly. Will definitely recommend the place and will be using the place again.

John was very responsive with all my questions prior checking-in. The place was nice. Caretakers were very helpful. Only downside is that there's no drivers quarter. But overall the team enjoyed.

Overall: It was okay. Not sure if we'd return nor recommend, especially if you're looking for something convenient with standard hotel amenities (no shampoos - as stated in the listing, no soaps - even though listing said so, but somehow fully stocked with dish and tableware). If you'd like somewhere peaceful, have a larger vehicle, and are prepared to bring everything you need for a stay, this could be a good place, but definitely overpriced for what it offers. Factors that led to our 'okay' review: 1. We primarily booked this stay as a wedding preparation venue and inquired whether this was possible with the host before submitting a booking request. While they agreed, they did not mention any additional fees for short-term guests (where wedding preparation staff fall under - we had 15 people on staff so this added up quickly) as well as an extra security deposit that was required in cash upon check-in until after the booking has been confirmed. 2. The house itself is in a gated compound with a paved driveway, but getting to the compound proved difficult. It wasn't until we were driving to the venue that the caretaker mentioned how the entry off the city street is around 300m of dirt and farmland - rocky and very, very, very narrow. We drove in with a couple of vans and a smaller sedan, and plants brushed by the vehicles on both sides for long stretches of this road. The smaller sedan's undercarriage also got damaged because of the rocks and bumps. With harsher weather conditions (there was a typhoon passing through during the second and last day of our booking), we did not feel confident about being able to return for the night because of this road and how it was not lit at all, so we ended up looking for accommodation elsewhere. 3. The caretaker was rude even though they mentioned we could come to them for any questions, and was simply difficult to reach. We had a lingering question we wanted to ask about 5 minutes after check-in but we could not reach them at all and had to talk to other staff (who initially refused to help until we told them we couldn't reach the caretaker) at the compound in order to get to them. We were able to get a hold of them about an hour and a half later. 4. There is another house being built next to this one, and there is construction noise during the day as well as construction workers and other staff milling about so no total privacy here. A positive: The pictures aren't lying, the house itself is nice and clean, with air-conditioning in all rooms.

Johnny Blue's "The Hammock Gallery" is indeed a beautiful home. My friends and I went there for a grand reunion. We were about 16 pax. It was perfect for us. We loved the beautiful aesthetic of the home and felt very comfortable during our stay. The rooms were great, bathrooms were clean, aircons working well and cold, kitchen was complete (except for an oven but maybe this can be a suggestion for improvement). We also enjoyed the cold pool and felt very refreshed and energized whenever we would swim. The open field was nice for outdoor activities and perfect for a bonfire. Mr. Johnny Blue and Ms. Jaika the caretaker were all very kind and accommodating. They made sure to attend to whatever we needed and really took care of us. We felt welcome, we felt safe, we felt at home. Maraming salamat, Mr. Johnny Blue! It was a real honor and pleasure to be able to create wonderful memories and experience in such a beautiful property full of art and music. There is a short one-way offroad going into the property, but that is part of the experience of going into a quiet and serene place. We are definitely going to come back! Until next time!
