This is the second time we've stayed here, and we'll be staying plenty more times in the future! Beautiful location, lovely home, excellent host. Thanks again, Tina!
"The Girnal" is a lovely spot to stay. It's a great spot for couples / family, groups visiting Fife and surrounds. Tina was a very organised and helpful host. I would happily recommend to others. Great local cafe very close by.
We had a lovely stay! Beautiful views and peace and quiet. We were there over Christmas and Tina had decorated and even left us a Christmas present under the tree. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped, with everything from a meat thermometer to turkey foil. The fireplace was a treat with the Scottish weather at it's best. Tina had also left a basket of local goodies for us, which was very much appreciated.
A wonderful return September trip for us. The house has such character and charm with the most perfect views across the forth from every window. You could spend the time just sitting and watching the seabirds and have the best experience ever! It's cosy but with more than enough space to find your own book nook and lovely airy bedrooms for sound sleep . There's everything you could possibly need in the space and the log fire is a treat to come back to. There's a very easy walk around the old harbour and the Harbourmaster's house cafe which offers all kinds of good food and very hard to resist sweet treats. With great walking and places to visit all very near by this will be our go-to Scottish autumn retreat for years to come. Thanks Tina for your ever warm welcome. This house is a little gem of a place. :)
Tina’s place immediately felt homely and more than matched up to our expectations. Thank you Tina for the welcome pack. It was very thoughtful and generous and our boys eyes lit up at some of the treats. The kitchen was particularly well equipped and it was a pleasure to use. The layout worked well and it was nice to be in there with the wonderful view of the Forth which amazingly was the view from all of the rooms. The morning sun (yes we had lots) on the water was a great way to wake up in the morning and there was always something passing up or down the Forth to gaze at through the binoculars which were also supplied. We had breakfast twice at the Harbourmasters Cafe which is a stone’s throw away and has excellent food and coffee. I wish we had the same facilities at home whereby you can walk out the door and take your four legged friends for a walk along the coastal path. Doggy heaven. Thanks again Tina. We’d love to return if you’ll have us. Xxx
Stunning conservation area typical of the East Neuk of Fife. Very quiet location and the only thing to keep you awake at night is the noise of the waves.
Great walks in all directions and the village of Dysart is well served by a Post Office and Pharmacy and a very well stocked corner shop.
Kirkcaldy has a very large retail park and lots of local bakers as well as a good choice of supermarkets.
There is on street parking and if you have a small enough car you may park in the shared drive.
There is an excellent bus service and very regular trains to Edinburgh and also to Leuchars for St Andrews and also to Perth and Dundee.
