Stunning traditional 2 bedroom flat in the heart of beautiful Bruntsfield - a fantastic area full of cute cafes (it is fondly called Brunch-field!), stylish bars, delicious restaurants and independent shops. 5 min walk to the famous Meadows park, 25 min walk to Princes Street , 20 min walk to the Grassmarket and 15 mins walk from Haymarket train station. Next to lots of local bus connections. You will have the entire apartment to yourselves! **Please note, the sofas in the living room have recently been changed for smaller ones - photos will be updated shortly** I (Annie) used to live in the flat with my friendly Labrador dog, however as I have now moved out, I am pleased to have made the full apartment available for rent. *This is why myself and my dog are mentioned in previous reviews** The flat is on the first floor of a traditional Scottish tenement with all of the original features . Guests will be provided with a list of local recommendations in Edinburgh.

The flat was perfectly situated, very clean, bright and cheerful. In the perfect neighborhood with every amenity . Completely enjoyed our stay the hosts were very responsive.
Great location in a neighbourhood with a soul including an independant book shop, a cinema, good grocers. Great shower. Nice, warm & sunny kitchen / dining room. Lovely green plants. Some areas for improvement: Lounge is not matching the picture. Felt dusty, cold & a bit cluttered. Smart TV could do with some guidance. A pity we could not access the BBC, particularly as travelling from overseas. Left hand-side bedroom needs a new mattress, a head board & a second bedside lamp. The washing-machine needs a good clean. Clothes come out dusty & with particles. The communal access could do with a clean.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The flat was well furnished and had great access to the local area as well as a good bus service into the centre of Edinburgh.
We stayed for 7 days at this traditional but modernised flat which retains many original nice features. We were visiting our daughter and young family who live in Bruntsfield so we know the area quite well. The street is quiet but only 200 metres from Bruntsfield High Street which offers plenty of lovely independent shops and frequent public transport into the city centre. The flat is clean, light, spacious and tastefully decorated. Useful wardrobe storage with shelving in the main bedroom. The outlook from both the front and the back are very pleasant. The rather soft beds and the small sofas could be improved though, otherwise a delightful apartment and possibly the best that we have stayed in during the last 7 years.

Getting around:
I recommend downloading the G00gle maps APP. I use it for walking around Edinburgh and for Edinburgh buses/trams/trains. The closest train station is Haymarket (15 mins walk) and the flat is next to lots of local bus routes. The flat is a 5 min walk to the famous Meadows park, 25 min walk to Princes Street and 20 min walk to the Grassmarket. The easiest way to get to the airport (other than taxi which is £20-30 depending on traffic) is using the tram. The closest tram stop is outside Haymarket train station.
Parking:
You can park on single yellow lines and in paid parking spaces for free on the streets around the flat from 5.30pm to 8am on week days and all day on Sat and Sun, however please always check the sign where you are parking.
Between 8am and 5.30pm you can pay to park – usually for up to 4h (again, please check the sign). Do not park in the “Permit Holder Only” spaces as these are residents only at all times (I learned this the hard way in Edinburgh and got a ticket!). There is 24h / 7 days free on street parking in Morningside which is around 20 min walk from the flat.
