The location was absolutely gorgeous and the host was very responsive! The site itself is very rustic, but as an experienced camper that was no problem for me. If you're coming in early April, like I did, be prepared for a thick layer of wet leaves and acorns, but that's just the woods! The site probably could have used some love, but considering I came right at the end of winter, and the very affordable rate, I was plenty happy with it. There's no running water or bathroom, but if you bring your own drinking water you can use water from the river for anything else, and there's empty woods on either side to find somewhere for a pee, or set up a camping toilet for a longer stay. We bought (local only!) firewood on our way, but in a drier season there would have been plenty to be found just nearby. There were even some nearby fallen birches (whose bark makes great firestarter even when damp). You're only about 50mi from Maine's Dark Sky zone, so the stargazing at night is incredible.

Had a blast at this site! Be aware that the dock is no longer there. The river was fun to swim in and the site was secluded in the woods.

Kathryn’s site was a beautiful location for my significant other, doggo and I to enjoy some time unplugged! Other sites somewhat nearby but plenty of tree coverage and privacy to enjoy the sounds of nature. The water was a bit more rapid than expected, but we had a blast splashing around near the shoreline!
